Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 November 2026
CrackRoom is an online study space for JEE and NEET aspirants. This page explains what we collect, why, who it is shared with, and how you stay in control of it. Questions are welcome at crackroomofficial@gmail.com.
What we collect
- From Google sign-in: your name, email address and Google account ID. We never see your Google password.
- Your profile: your display name, avatar, exam, class, subjects, target year, daily goal and privacy choices.
- Your study activity: focus sessions, planned sessions and the study rooms you join.
- What you write: room chat messages, community posts, comments, reactions and reshares, and any reports you send to our moderators.
- Mentorship: the sessions you book or offer, the topic you write for your mentor, and, for mentors, the details shown on their public profile.
How we use it
- To run your account and show your rooms, timers, plans and progress on any device.
- To show your posts, messages and profile to other students, following the privacy choices you set.
- To arrange mentorship sessions and send notifications about activity that involves you.
- To keep CrackRoom safe, including reviewing reports and stopping abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and CrackRoom has no advertising or analytics trackers.
What other students can see
Other students can see your display name and avatar, and anything you post in rooms or the community. Your exam, subjects, target year and study stats depend on the privacy choices in your profile. We do not show your email address to other students.
When you book a mentor, they see your name, your exam and the topic you wrote.
Google Calendar invites
When a mentorship session is booked, CrackRoom creates a Google Calendar event with a Google Meet link from its own Google account. To send the invitation, your email address, the session time and your topic are sent to Google. The invitation is set so that guests cannot see each other's email address. Google handles this under its own Privacy Policy.
CrackRoom never asks for access to your own Google Calendar. CrackRoom's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Services we use
We rely on a small number of providers to run CrackRoom, and they process data only as needed to provide their service:
- Google: sign-in, Calendar and Meet.
- Vercel: serves the website.
- Render: runs the application server.
- Supabase: stores the database.
These providers may process data outside India. We may also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies and browser storage
We use cookies that keep you signed in and protect your account from forged requests. Your browser also stores small preferences on your device, such as your light or dark theme. We do not use these for advertising.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time under Profile, which permanently removes your profile, study history, plans and messages from our database. Your hosting providers may keep technical logs for a limited time. To ask for a correction or for help deleting your data, email us.
Students under 18
Many JEE and NEET aspirants are under 18. If you are, please use CrackRoom with the knowledge and permission of a parent or guardian, especially before booking a 1:1 mentorship call. A parent or guardian can contact us about a student's account at the address below.
